"Tim was fantastic- very professional and organized, and just the right mix of energy, but not over-the-top. The mix of music he chose incorporated a lot of what we like, so he was really in tune with our interests. (we got a lot of "great music selection" comments) Something unique that Tim provided for us was cutting the 2nd verse of a song (Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water") to support a reasonable dancing time for the father-daughter dance. The cut was remarkably seamless! And when the son-mother dance spontaneously evolved into the parents & bride/groom all dancing, Tim didn't skip a beat in announcing the parties, as if it were planned! This showed he was really paying attention. Overall, the experience and planning Tim put into the night really showed, and we were very pleased with the reception.

"Tim was great. He met with us a couple months before the wedding and made us totally comfortable with his abilities and squelched any nerves we had. We talked to him about 10 days before our wedding and went over the whole website we had filled out. We felt super comfortable and Tim just understood everything that we wanted and the feel we wanted our wedding to have. The day of he was outgoing and fun. He really got into the reception's atmosphere and had fun with us and our bridal party. He pronounced all names correctly and did exactly what we wanted the whole night. "We contacted Tim through the sounds abound website after we had some scheduling issues a few weeks prior to our reception. We chose Tim based on his video and his overall personality and he did not disappoint. Due to the crazy schedule we had prior to the ceremony it was hard to find time to meet Tim. He was very accomodating, very understanding, did a great job of putting our minds at ease that he was perfect for our reception. We had a few things that we specifically did and did not want at the reception, Tim handled our requests with ease was very professional and had a great rapport with our guests. His introductions were spot on, he did a great job with the announcements, the songs we wanted to hear, the songs we didn't want to hear, etc. He's a genuinely nice guy who seemed to be very happy for us as a couple and understood how important this day was for us. "I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know that my new husband and I LOVED working with our DJ, Tim Yach.
First off, let me say that we chose Tim from the website because, in his video, he really seemed to personify the ideal DJ in my mind--it is clear that he is passionate about this job and quite good at it, but he also knows when to let the music and the party do the talking. When we met him face to face, he was the consummate professional but also just seemed like an all-around nice guy that would fit in well with many different types of social circles. Meeting him a few weeks before the wedding really got us excited about the big day and we left knowing everything was going to be a blast with Tim at the helm!
As the date of our event approached rapidly, I had absolutely NO concerns about the music--I knew that Tim was on it and, should anything go wrong, he and the Sounds Abound team would make it right. I was not even remotely nervous about the DJ, which is probably a LOT more than most frantic brides can say right before their wedding and I think this is a testament to both Tim AND the Sounds Abound organization.
And of course, we did not have any issues whatsoever. Tim got the party started and immediately our crowd reacted. The energy and enthusiasm he brought to the evening was palpable. Quickly the dancers got to know Tim by name (and not, Hey DJ!) and he got to know some of the "stars" of the dance floor by name, as well!! It felt like one of our friends was working the music. People are still talking about Tim and what a great job he did!
One item of personal importance to me was the "please play" and "do not play" lists. I did not hear one song from the do not play list and I can't think of any from the play list that were missed. I think the best part was that they were all spaced out and timed perfectly with the mood of the crowd. Tim really understands that a single song can make or break those key moments in the event.
It would be my pleasure to recommend him to others that are looking for a DJ for ANY event. Our goal was to have a fun, youthful, energetic and bright wedding, and Tim was the perfect fit.

"We can't wait to team up with Sounds Abound again! Our DJ, Tim, ramped up the music selections perfectly, building the evening just right! The photobooth and attendant were a big hit, too. The videographer was very professional, we can't wait to see the finished product!
Tim did such an amazing job - from the beginning he really made a point to get to know Brian and I. He wanted to get a feel for what the crowd was going to be like so he could best meet their musical needs. We had a hodge-podge group, but they were all out on the dance floor together. During the reception, Tim made the entire evening run so smoothly. I didn't have to think about what was "suppose" to be next. And if we wanted something changed, Tim was our man to make sure we were happy. One of my sorority sisters even brought up a cd and asked him to play a song from it. With no hesitation, Tim played it and the girls swarmed to the dance floor. It was tons of fun. Our reception would not have been as memorable had it not been for Tim. Very friendly with all of our guest, approachable and easily accessible. Throughout our planning process, I was in constant email/cell phone communication. He made the reception of my dreams come true. Even after the groom and I left, Tim made sure the party was still up and running. It was a great time had by all. Thanks for everything Tim!!!"
